The Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Faculty of Management signed an agreement on scholarships for 14 talented young athletes from our city. The protocol was made official by the Dean Associate Professor Irena Petrušić and the Vice-President of the Municipality Mirko Mustur, in the presence of the Secretary for Social Activities and International Cooperation Vasilij Ćuković, Vice-Dean Dr. Nikša Grgurović and representatives of sports clubs.

For the third year, the Municipality of Herceg Novi provides half of the scholarship to Novi athletes, and the other is donated by the Faculty of Management. This year, 14 freshmen received the scholarship, explained the dean Assoc. Dr. Irena Petrušić.

- Previously, we had agreements on cooperation with PVK Jadran and KK Primorje, and then, on the initiative of the Municipality, two years ago we started a new cooperation in which the Municipality finances half, and the Faculty finances the other half, and it turned out to be a good thing. Rijč is about the athletes of PVK Jadran, KK Primorje and OK Albatros. In the first year, we awarded scholarships to eight students, last year to 12, and this year to 14 students, Petrušić said.

As she pointed out, the main motive is to ensure that young people do not neglect their academic training while developing their sports career.

- Students benefit the most because they are busy with numerous sports obligations and the academic part falls into a backlog. What we enable them to do is to finish their studies in parallel with training and matches, and tomorrow when they finish their sports career, they can continue to work in the fields in which they were educated, Dr. Petrušić said.

The Faculty of Management and the Municipality of Herceg Novi recognized the need for young people to stay in the city, said the Vice President of the Municipality, Mirko Mustur

-Sports clubs such as PVK Jadran, KK Primorje and Albatros have athletes who would have to leave the city, and therefore the club, to continue their education. In this way, it was possible for them to stay in the city, play and study. According to the contract, five players each from the Adriatic and Primorje and four from Albatros will receive scholarships, Vice President Mustur said.

Miloš Mračević, director of PVK Jadran, expressed satisfaction with the continuation of cooperation and the opportunity for players to study and play in their city.

- The Faculty of Management made it possible for young people to have a different perspective and not have to leave the city to get an education, but to "push" their sports career and school in parallel. We are looking forward to today's signing of the agreement and I would like our athletes to balance their professional obligations with their higher education obligations and thus become richer people. This is the third time, there were five students in the generation, some have finished, some are still studying because the sports obligations are very extensive, in any case, they can decide later whether they will continue their education or what will satisfy their interests, Mračević said.

The Faculty of Management also provides certain financial benefits for studying to members of FC Obilić, with whom it has signed an agreement, as well as with the Union of Professional Footballers, while employees in the public administration have benefits defined through contracts on business and technical cooperation.
