Representatives of the Faculty of Management were in Tuzla from October 14 to 15, where they participated in the activities of the conference organized within the Erasmus+ project GEAR, aimed at improving gender equality and developing gender inclusive STE(A)M education.
One of the most significant events of the conference was the presentation of the Manifesto of the University of the Western Balkans on gender inclusive STE(A)M education, with which universities from the region expressed their common commitment to creating a more equal and inclusive academic environment. The manifesto emphasizes the importance of cooperation between higher education institutions, exchange of knowledge and joint action in order to improve equal opportunities in education, science and research.
A panel discussion "Gender equality in academia and research - where are we and what still needs to be changed?" was held as part of the conference, during which current challenges and opportunities for improving gender equality in the academic community were discussed.
A special part of the program was dedicated to supporting female and male students in STE(A)M fields, presenting good practices and lessons learned from the GEAR project, as well as tools for creating a more inclusive academic environment. The sustainability of project results and the importance of long-term institutional commitment to gender equality were also discussed.
The participation of representatives of the Faculty of Management at this conference was an opportunity to exchange experiences, connect with representatives of the academic community and learn about initiatives that contribute to improving the quality and inclusiveness of higher education.
The Faculty of Management continues to recognize the importance of international cooperation, modern educational approaches and the creation of an academic environment that encourages equal opportunities, respect for diversity and the development of the potential of each individual.
