The Faculty of Management Herceg Novi, in cooperation with the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, launches SmartTour Lab - a free educational program that connects sustainable tourism, artificial intelligence, 3D technologies and digital marketing. Applications are open until October 5. The tourism of the future relies more and more on modern technologies, sustainable solutions and creative ideas, and precisely on these areas is the focus of the new program SmartTour Lab, which will be implemented from October 8 at the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi.
The program is intended for undergraduate and master's students, as well as young professionals under the age of 30, and participation is free. It is implemented in cooperation with the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, which through its support programs encourages the development of innovations and the realization of educational programs in the areas of smart specialization. SmartTour Lab connects theoretical knowledge and practical work, with a special focus on local and Mediterranean heritage and contemporary trends in tourism.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about areas such as sustainable tourism, green technologies, energy efficiency, artificial intelligence, 3D modeling and printing, digital marketing, visual branding, cultural heritage and innovative entrepreneurship.
The program is designed through 12 thematic modules and a total of 60 hours of education, and the participation of 24 participants is expected. The education includes theoretical lectures and examples of good practice, demonstrations and practical workshops, mentoring work on your own concept, as well as the final presentation of the results.
Special emphasis is placed on the application of modern technologies in tourism. Participants will work on topics that include AI solutions, 3D models, visual identity and digital campaigns for tourist destinations, with an effort to develop concrete ideas applicable in the modern tourism sector.
The SmartTour Lab program starts on October 8, and the training will be held once a week, on Thursdays, at the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi. The application deadline is October 5, 2026, while the number of places is limited.
The program comes at a time when innovation, digitization and sustainability are increasingly recognized as important directions for tourism development. The Innovation Fund of Montenegro itself lists support for the organization of education in the areas of smart specialization among its programs, while the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi was already a beneficiary of the Fund's support for projects in the field of sustainability and
innovation.
SmartTour Lab thus provides young people with the opportunity to develop knowledge that connects tourism, technology, sustainability and creativity through education, practical workshops and mentoring, with the aim of having
their ideas contribute to shaping the tourism offer of the future.
