The Ambassador of the Republic of China visited the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Montenegro, His Excellency Chen Xiufeng, with his colleagues, visited the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi on Saturday, September 27. During a friendly and cordial meeting with the management and teaching and administrative staff of the Faculty, the possibilities of cooperation in the field of education, science and culture were discussed.

The Dean of the Faculty expressed her gratitude to the ambassador for the honor of the visit and introduced him to the institution's key activities and development plans, especially in the field of international cooperation and strengthening academic ties with universities in China. A vision of future joint initiatives was also presented, including the exchange of students and teachers, as well as projects that connect scientific research work and the practical needs of the economy.

Ambassador Xiufeng pointed out that the Chinese Embassy recognizes the importance of improving cooperation in the field of education and will continue to support projects that contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations between China and Montenegro. During the visit, he also spoke with the participants of the Chinese language course, which is being implemented as part of the "Chinese Classroom" at the Faculty of Management, and emphasized that such programs represent a bridge between the two countries and contribute to mutual understanding and strengthening of cultural ties.

The visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of China to the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi is a confirmation of commitment to the development of bilateral cooperation and an additional incentive for the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, culture and science.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro has been organizing Chinese language courses in Herceg Novi at the Faculty of Management since September 2017. Participation in the courses is free for high school students and students, while the price of the course for employees is 100 euros per course.

After the three-month course in the winter semester, as well as the three-month course in the summer semester, participants have the opportunity to take the national standardized tests of the Chinese language - HSK, which are evaluated in Beijing, by the Department of the Ministry of Education - Hanban, and are recognized as such not only in China, but all over the world.

There are many opportunities for improvement:

  • Every summer, the Confucius Institute sends up to 20 students between the ages of 15 and 30 for two weeks to China, in order to deepen their knowledge of the Chinese language and Chinese culture as part of the Summer Camp. The cities of Beijing and Changsha are also visited.
  • The Confucius Institute, making the most of its strengths, organizes rich and varied cultural and educational activities. Every year, the Institute hosts large Chinese artistic troupes, and so far concerts have been held in the Montenegrin National Theater, the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović", and the Gymnasium "Slobodan Škerović". There is a possibility that Herceg Novi will also host such an event.
  • There are numerous opportunities for the improvement of Montenegrin citizens in China, half-yearly and annual scholarships for the improvement of the Chinese language, postgraduate and doctoral scholarships, etc.

Completed HSK1 and HSK2 Chinese language test

The Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Faculty of Management, successfully conducted the HSK 1 and HSK 2 Chinese language tests in Herceg Novi on June 10, 2018. year.

Completed HSKK Chinese language test

HSKK (Oral Chinese Language Test) was successfully completed at the Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro. The test was carried out in Podgorica and Herceg Novi (Faculty of Management) at the same time. This is the first time that the HSKK test was organized in Herceg Novi.

Since the establishment of IC at UCG, the enthusiasm of students to learn Chinese has increased to a great extent, the number of candidates applying for the HSKK test is also increasing. IK strives to stimulate students' interest in learning Chinese and motivate them to achieve high scores through hard work.

The institute strives to develop more and more outstanding students and lovers of the Chinese language in order to build a linguistic and cultural bridge for the "Belt and Road" initiative started by IK.
