The Faculty of Management is the co-organizer of the second virtual international conference "ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF ONLINE EDUCATION IN THE TIME OF COVIDA 19", held on September 21, 2020. In front of the Faculty of Management, the dean Irena Petrušić, PhD, and the vice dean for teaching, Nikša Grgurević, PhD, gave their presentation. Numerous professors from the region, psychologists and students took part in the conference, which was organized by the Faculty of Project and Innovation Management PMC from Belgrade, and co-organized by the Faculty of Management Herceg Novi.
The conclusions of the conference are as follows:
In primary and secondary education, "online" teaching did not fully show its advantages because, despite the timely response of the educational authorities, it was not physically possible to immediately adjust the software to the needs and train a sufficient number of teachers for live teaching in a short period of time, it was said at the international virtual conference "Advantages and disadvantages of online teaching".
- If it is taken into account that a large number of teachers were not familiar with all segments of IT technologies, lectures on state television in front of several million, not only students but entire families, it must be admitted that those teachers, associate teachers and professors, did a heroic job and managed in unforeseen circumstances. In "online" education, the role of the teacher is great, because the quality of the lectures must come to the fore more than in normal circumstances, when interaction with the listeners can be encouraged.
At the meeting, it was said that the faculties have better adapted to the new way of working, especially the smaller ones, which even before the onset of the pandemic were working on the development of their own platforms and IT tools to improve the quality of the educational process. Students complained the most about the lack of communication with colleagues from the faculty and professors. In addition to lecturers from Montenegro, their colleagues from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as students, participated in the meeting.
